  Gabor's master for DJ Bootsie’s Allegro Identity totally floored me. I was blown away by the vivid stereo imaging, the wide soundstage, and the amazing level of detail without the bottom end ever losing punch. Knowing his work, I was prepared for a well balanced and precise sound that never becomes surgical or tiring, but man, it felt like the music had a physical presence. It filled up my living room from the floor to the ceiling. This is probably the best sounding Hungarian electronic music vinyl release yet, and a stand out sound engineering achievement even at an international level. I have a fairly decency vintage hifi system which mercilessly exposes shortcomings of poorly recorded, mixed or mastered records. Unfortunately, a lot of contemporary dance music sounds flat, dull or drained of any nuance or feeling if you can really hear what is on the record. This is why I usually listen to electronic music and hip hop on my DJ setup which adds a loud bounce by boosting the bass and highs is just more forgiving. Still, Gabor's master really makes this record sing on my main audiophile system. I had to give it another spin as I couldn’t believe what I heard the first time around.
